Environmental and Safety Policy
Western Lime Corporation ( WLC ) believes that providing a safe workplace and balancing the needs of the environment and with the needs and goals of the company is essential to providing sustainable growth and positive corporate citizenship. WLC is committed to continuous improvement in all safety and environmental arenas including resource consumption, fuel efficiency and overall emissions. WLC works toward continuous improvement by implementing the following:
Employee Safety
The managers and employees are each responsible for making safety in the workplace a top priority. Safety should be the first thing considered when planning projects and in the daily performance of duties. Management shall promote a safe and stable work environment, and lead the employees by their serious approach to safety.
Waste
Each facility strives to reduce the amount of waste generated at the site. Recycling and reuse are pursued and implemented whenever possible.
Natural Resource Conservation
Each facility strives to efficiently utilize the natural resources required for the manufacturing process. Efficient use of these materials produces less waste material and preserves these natural resources.
Fuel Efficiency
Each facility strives to improve fuel efficiency of the manufacturing process. Increasing fuel efficiency results in lower fuel usage, which preserves the resource and reduces the emissions from the process.
Emissions
Each facility strives to reduce emissions through the use of state of the art control technology and best management practices. Projects are reviewed to ensure appropriate control measures are implemented.
Water
Each facility protects the ground and surface water through the use of water treatment facilities and best management practices.
